Another Revised Paragraph, Project 3

In his article “College: The Undergraduate Experience in America”, Ernest L. Boyer introduces the idea of an enriched major. Boyer describes an enriched major as “encouraging students not only to explore a field in depth, but also to help them put their field of special study in perspective”(Boyer, 110). Majors should require extensive time in the classroom learning the necessary skills, while also spending time in the field putting those skills to work. The University of New England’s Applied Exercise Science major does this well while preparing students for a graduate education. The Applied Exercise Science major can be seen as being an enriched major because of the intensive curriculum as well as internships and field studies. AES major has a wide variety of career paths.  The rigorous curriculum prepares students for a career in physical therapy, occupational therapy, and physician assistant.
